a history of homosexuality
From the Ancient Greeks to Will and Grace, to the Pope and the Pink Triangle, and Everything in Between
By Angela Staiger
Homosexuality has been a controversial topic throughout history. While it seems like it's only recently been the topic of heated debates, it's been around since primitive times. Ancient and modern societies, the political world, television, and religious groups have all dealt with homosexuality in their own ways. Activists have fought for rights and anti-gay protestors have fought against gays over time. Laws have changed and so has marriage itself. So why is there a need to decide to legalize same-s

Same Sex Marriage and My Mind
Ontario has legalized same sex marriages, and according to the NPR Great Britain will follow suit within the year. Yet the United States, a country that thrives on it's freedoms (freedom of religion, feedom of speech) refuses to legalize same sex marriages...

Why is the United States so against Same Sex Marriages? For the most part... Religious Reasons. Marriage is between a man and a woman.

Same Sex Marriage: Why Are We Still Arguing?
Perhaps it is the irony of a half-naked man in fairy wings parading the streets of San Francisco claiming hes just like everyone else. Perhaps, Congress, full of disgruntled men sympathetic to Senator Larry Craig and unable to exercise their public restroom fantasies, exude their anger by passing constitutional amendments barring same-sex couples from marriage. Americans, quite vehemently, are still bickering about what should be done with what President Bush has called the most fundamental institution of civilization.
But what exactly do gay people want and why ar
Same-sex Marriage, right or wrong?
Gay or same-sex marriage has been the topic of discussion for many years. Where once homosexuals would be hunted down, now they have more rights, though very few.
What exactly is Homosexuality? Homosexuality is same-sex preferences, compared to heterosexuality, the normal type of preference. Many problems arise when the topic of Homosexuality is mentioned. It is one of the few topics that never have a middle meeting place. There are the ones who would do anything in their power to split up a homosexual couple, and others who with anything in their power would protect the couple.

Gay Marriage: Is it Really so Awful?
The politics of America have perhaps never been as divided as they are now. There are many reasons why the Red States and the Blue States simply do not agree, and oftentimes the opinions are entirely partisan. This, however, is not always the case. Sometimes certain issues are far more complicated than that. Sometimes certain hot-topics divide the political parties themselves into groups.
Same-sex marriage is one such topic, and the uproar over it is often very baseless, and usually, at its core, amounts to an argument no more stunning than saying "Because I said so." There are no monsters

What is the true meaning of marriage? The way most people see marriage is: The state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law.(http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Marriage). My mom has always told me that marriage is between a man, and woman and God. But personally not every single human being on earth sees is that way. I disagree with many of the definitions of marriage. In America the conventional church generally believes all marriage involves reproduction. Marriage I can see why so

Homosexual people want the right to be able to register their relationships as a marriage. The issue of same-sex marriages has been prominent in the courtrooms and in the media. There have been hundreds of court dates around the world to try and settle the issue. Homosexuals have been in an uproar over the right to be married. The Angus Reid Group polled 1,500 Ontario residents in May of 1999, 59% of those with university degrees were in favour of homosexual marriages, compared to only 38% of those who had not completed high school. They call on the government to recognise the issue, based on the Charter of Rights, which states that no one sh

Same Sex Marriage.
Objective: You will be engaged in an in-depth study of same sex marriages. This project will involve research and the result will be an argument presented in the form of a debate.
Viewpoint: AGAINST.
Arguments:
1. Homosexuality is not natural.
Much like eyeglasses, cesarean sections, birth control and painkillers are not natural.

3. Living with gay parents will adversely imp
